The Next Kelly Slater?

Surfing is a huge part of the Australian culture. In November of last year, while on the Oz Experience Bus, I got to try this classic Australian pastime. We stopped at a place called SpotX Surf Camp at Arrawarra Beach and they taught us all "how to surf." Now you'll see in the photos below, I think I was a pretty good student because I was able to stand up on my board a few times. I wouldn't say that I was the next Kelly Slater or anything, but you never know!

The Wedding of the Century

Last week I went to Adelaide to take part in Melody's wedding! I spent a week there and had such a wonderful time with "family." It was such a beautiful day, even with a bit of good-luck rain and chilling winds. Between the Ceremony and Reception, we spent the day taking photos all over scenic Adelaide. Those photos will come later...but for now, (courtesy of Tanya! pictured below,) Here is a taste of what April 9th, 2011 was like.

Needless to say...I had a very good time at the reception...Dancing like a true Stillwell! Congratulations to the newlyweds, Michael and Melody Marrone!

The View From Down Here

My Roommate Pete, picked me up from the airport (Thank you Pete!) and took me back to our apartment. I had no idea what to expect, but it was beyond my wildest dreams. Here is what I get to wake up to and see everyday.

You can see St. Mary's Cathedral, the Opera House and a tiny part of the Harbour Bridge! We have beautiful tree-lined streets all around us with the quaintest cafes. I'm steps away from Hyde Park and the CBD. I can't believe I am living in the heart of Sydney!

I Have Arrived

I arrived safely in Sydney around 7:00am on Saturday, April 2nd (Nanna Joy's Birthday) just as the sun was rising. My flights were wonderful and I actually had an empty seat next to me from LAX-SYD, which provided me plenty of room to curl up and sleep for about 6 hours. It was a great trip over and now to begin the next chapter of my life!
